Sebenarnya sy dh lama teringin sgt nak buat red velvet cake yg memang disukai ramai tu. tapi bila percubaan pertama agak tak jadi (warna merah jadi warna merah darah ikan - sgt gelap!), dan bila fikir2 balik, resipi yg biasa pembuat kek guna memerlukan paling kurang 2 sudu besar/sudu makan/tablespoon untuk 1 resipi kek baldu merah. ianya sungguh tidak menyihatkan! kek ni memang dijual dengan harga yang mahal (mmg mahal, sebab topping cheese tu bukan guna seketul 250g ye! mungkin 2 hingga 3 ketul utk sebiji kek yg di-layer), dan menggunakan pewarna tiruan yang banyak, saya rasa tak berbaloi sgt kalau sy nak beli dan makan. maka, bermulalah misi mencari alternatif bagi menggantikan pewarna merah tiruan.<br />

Ya, benar. Beet Root atau ubi bit adalah sejenis ubi yang berwarna merah. ia boleh dijadikan pengganti kepada pewarna merah tiruan :) jadi, boleh juga kita namakan kek ni Beet Root Chocolate Cake :)<br />

Sebab hampir semua bahan adalah organic - unbleached flour, organic cocoa powder, organic beet root dan juga organic raw cane sugar. Sy memang sengaja guna bahan-bahan organic ni memandangkan bahan utamanya - ubi bit - pun bebas bahan kimia (in syaa Allaah), jadi apa salahnya bahan lain juga turut selamat dari bahan kimia, kan?</div>

Tap pans on the counter to remove any air bubbles.</span></li>

**The other thing I discovered while testing it today, is that I didn’t make my puree as fine. In the pictures from last time, you can see that the texture of the beet puree is very smooth, almost like baby food. I think that may have affected the color. Each tiny piece of beet adds to the color, and if there’s more surface area surrounding each teeny tiny piece, then you’ll get a stronger red. I think.<br />

saja nk update tentang kuih yg menjadi kesukaan wani semasa sekolah menengah di kelantan dahulu ( memori lebih 8tahun yang lalu..). kuih ni wani panggil Kuih Topi sebab bentuknya hampir sama dnegan topi koboi. hehe. rupanya nama dia ialah cucur jawa. ada juga yang panggil penyaram.. macam2 nama, kan :) kt sekolah dulu kalau x silap, harganya sebiji 20sen atau paling mahal pun 50 sen. mmg lembut je kuih. sangat laris jualan kuih ni. kalau lambat ke kantin waktu rehat, memang tak dapatlah. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />

</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">kebetulan, tahun lepas beraya di rumah nenek sebelah ibu mertua - baling, kedah. sebelum bertolak pulang ke KL, nenek bekalkan kami dengan cucur jawa ni. wani lihat sendiri dari awal proses penyediaan adunan kuih ni, hinggalah proses menggoreng - dan tentulah part yang tak akan dilepaskan ialah tolong sibukkan diri nak goreng! hehe. kagum sekejap tengok adunan ni bila digoreng, ia membentuk sendiri bentuk topi. dalam hati kata: "ooo, ingatkan kena goreng sekali dengan senduknya baru terbentuk topi. hihihi"</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">semasa nenek menyediakan bancuhan, nenek hanya bancuh dengan tangan sahaja. tak guna mixer/blender/mahupun hand whisk. katanya, kalau guna tangan baru boleh rasa ketulan-ketulan gula tu samada dah hancur atau belum. sambil2 wani menyibukkan diri kacau nenek bancuh adunan, sempat juga tanya resipi. nenek dah siap bagi resipi, cucu dia ni boleh lupa pula. isk isk. nanti kena call la kampung tanya resipi rahsia.. teringat-ingat kelembutan cucur jawa buatan nenek ni.. oh ya, tips utk dapat cucur jawa yang lembut - adunan jangan terlalu pekat atau terlalu cair, goreng guna api yang perlahan.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />

alhamdulillah sekarang dah di akhir-akhir kehamilan. tinggal lagi 2 hari sebelum EDD. (<i>kepada para pengunjung blog ni, mohon doa kalian agar Allah permudahkan bg saya semasa proses melahirkan nanti ya</i>.)<br /><br />bila dh nak dekat bersalin ni, ramailah suruh makan puas-puas, nanti masa berpantang macam-macam makanan tak boleh makan. so, haritu teringin nak makan cheese choc cake kt Secret Recipe. bila sampai kt SR, dah habis pula cake tu.. sedihnya. huhu. so, buatlah kek ni 2 hari lepas sebab ramai yang bagi feedback n review tentang resipi ni. katanya resipi ni ala SR. tp bila dah dicuba, rasanya kedua-dua kek (cheese choc di SR, dan cheese choc resipi damnmachine dari myresipi.com) berlainan sama sekali dari segi method. kek di SR ialah kek yang dibakar, manakala kek yang menggunakan resipi di bawah menggunakan method chilling (sejukkan dalam peti ais tanpa perlu bakar). cuma mungkin yang membuatkan kedua-duanya sama ialah dari segi rasa - mungkin lah. jadi, boleh la cuba ye!</div>

Kemudian, campur dengan butter yang tlah dicairkan. Tekan rata dalam springform pan atau bottom loose pan. Masuk dalam peti sejuk.<br /><br />Lapisan atas:<br />1 - Pukul cream cheese dan gula kastor sehingga licin. 2 - 2 - Masukkan bahan lain pukul sebati (biskut tiger yg tlah dihancurkan, whipping cream)<br />3 - Campurkan gelatin & full cream milk and masak sehingga cair. Tuangkan milk & gelatine ke dalam adunan cheese td. Kemudian tuang ke atas biskut tiger yang disejukkan td. Masuk dlm peti sejuk sehingga cheese tu agak2 sudah keras (lbh kurang 2jam)<br /><br />Chocolate mousse:<br />1 - Pukul whipping cream dan masukkan semua bahan utk mousse. Kalau adunan rase pahit, tmbh susu pekat sket je. Kemudian tuangkan ke atas lapisan cheese yang sudah keras tu dan masuk ke dalam peti sejuk semula utk keraskan chocolate mousse<br /><br />Chocolate ganache:<br />- Masukkan semua bahan dlm mangkuk/periuk dan masak cara double boil. Masak sehingga ganache pekat. Sejukkan dulu sebelum di tuang ke atas chocolate mousse yang dah keras. Masuk dalam peti ais semula.<br />- Bila agak2 chocolate ganache da keras, boleh la dihidangkan.<br />- Biarkan cake betul2 keras kalau tak cair. Lagi satu, saya dah buat cake ni dan rase agak manis sedikit. So kalau sape yang xsuke manis2, boleh kurangkan sket sukatan gula. Selamat mencuba!<br /><br />*note: sape yg rase nk mkn cake ni mcm ice cream ley bekukan dlm freezer..n sape yg nk cake ni sejuk biase..boley la letakkan cake ni dlm peti ais biase(bkn freezer)..tp kene biarkan atleast 8hrs or lagi baik semalaman untuk dptkan cake yg ok..<br /><br />*note: klu cake ni dibekukan dlm freezer..lama kelamaan cake ni akan cair sedikit..bak kate chef bile cheese beku jadi ais..nnti bile kluar dr freezer, ais tu akan cair..so smpan dlm peti ais biase mayb boley menyelamat keadaan mcm ni..hehehe..harap2 petua ni boleh membantu anda semua..=)</span>

dan sempena ramadhan kali ni, adalah beberapa juadah yg wani cuba sediakan.. termasuklah kuih bakar kemboja ni.. kuih bakar ni favourite mama wani. dia ada resipi khas yg disukainya, tp wani saje nk cuba resipi 'hot' dari JoAyee ni. alhamdulillah, mmg terbukti kesedapannya.<br />

sedap, mmg sedap.. sampai 3 hari berturut2 wani buat kuih ni. bila dok kt dapur tu, rasa macam dah buka gerai jual kuih pula kt depan rumah. hehe. so, inilah sebab2 utama 3 hari berturut2 buat kuih ni:<br />

<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #cc0000;">mama suka kuih bakar yg masih lembut bila dah sejuk. jadi, mama bg tips agar tambah adunan cecair. setakat ini wani hanya lebihkan air sebanyak 1/4 cawan. tp, mama kata boleh juga gantikan air tambahan (1/4 cawan) dengan sebiji telur. insyaAllah kuih bakar kemboja ni akan lembut sampai waktu bersahur keesokan harinya.</span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #cc0000;">cara mama wani bakar kuih ni - panaskan loyang/acuan kuih terlebih dahulu di atas api dapur. kalau nk elakkan dari adunan melekat pada loyang, penuhkan loyang dengan minyak masak. panaskan sehingga keluar asap (betul2 panas). kemudian tuang (keluarkan) minyak tu dari loyang/acuan. kecilkan api sekecil2nya. sapu minyak atau butter pada loyang/acuan. dan tuang adunan ke dalamnya. 'masak' sebentar di atas dapur (5-10minit) dengan api yg sangat kecil - tujuannya hanya untuk dapatkan kulit yg agak garing. kemudian sambung bakar kuih di dalam oven selama 30 - 40 minit hingga permukaan kuih nampak keperang-perangan dan garing.</span></li>

<li>lenyekkan isi ikan tuna. </li>
<li>campurkan semua bahan kecuali putih telur. kalau perlu tambah garam, tambah sedikit sahaja.</li>
<li>masukkan putih telur. gaul sebati.</li>
<li>kepalkan campuran isi ikan tadi. wani buat dapat 3 ketul. bentukkan ikut kesukaan masin-masing ye.</li>
<li>panaskan pan, letak sedikit minyak. masak untuk 3 minit setiap bahagian, atau terbalikkan tuna burger apabila permukaan sudah garing.</li>

<li>300 gm tepung gandum</li>
<li>2 sudu tepung beras</li>
<li>1 tsp baking powder</li>
<li>200 gm kacang badam (digoreng tanpa minyak)</li>
<li>50 gm badam cincang (utk hiasan)</li>
<li>+/- 700 gm coklat masakan</li>

</div>Cara-cara:<br />

<li>Masukkan telur, esen vanilla dan dipukul lagi.</li>
<li>Masukkan serbuk badam, kacau</li>
<li>Ayak bersama tepung jagung, tepung beras, baking powder dan gaulkan bersama adunan tadi</li>
<li>Masukkan tepung gandum sedikit demi sedikit hingga adunan menjadi doh</li>
<li>Bentukkan doh menjadi bulat-bulat kecil/lonjong & masukkan kacang didalamnyer.</li>
<li>Letakkan diatas dulang pembakar yg telah dilenserkan sedikit mentega</li>
<li>Bakar pada suhu 200'c.d selama 20 minit</li>
<li>Cairkan coklat masak dengan kaedah "double-boil"</li>
<li>Masukkan biskut tadi kedalam mangkuk kertas dan tuang atau celup coklat masak. Taburkan sedikit badam cincang utk hiasan</li>
<li>Biarkan ia kering seketika dan sedia dimakan atau disimpan.</li>

Cara-cara:<br />
<ol><li>Untuk Bebola Daging: Satukan semua bahan dalam satu mangkuk. gaul ratakan semua bahan. sediakan satu dulang atau bekas dialas dengan plastik. bulat2kan bebola daging dan susun di atas dulang/bekas. jarakkan antara bebola tersebut. masukkan ke dalam peti sejuk, dan beku kan sehingga bebola keras. </li>
<li>Untuk Sos Pasta: put the onion, garlic and oregano into the process and blitz to a pulp. Heat the butter and oil in a deep wide pan, then scrape the onion-garlic mix into it and cook over a low-medium for about 10 minutes. Don't let the mixture catch, just let it become soft. Add the bottle of passata and then fill the empty bottle half full with cold water. Add this to the pan with the pinch of sugar, some salt and pepper, and cook for about 10 minutes. </li>
<li>The tomato sauce will appear thin at this stage, but don't worry as it will thicken a little later. Stir in the milk, and then drop the meatballs in one by one. Don't stir the pan until the meatballs have turned from pink to brown as you don't want to break them up. Cook everything for about 20 minutes, with the lid only partially covering it. </li>
<li>At the end of cooking time, check the seasoning as you may want more salt and a grind or two more of pepper.</li>

Caveman food was never cooked as fire was not yet tamed. Thus, he ate only those foods that you can eat without treatment with or by fire. You have the necessary enzymes to digest meat.<br />

However, rice, like wheat and corn, cannot be eaten raw. It must be cooked. Even if you were starving in the desert, you cannot eat rice in the raw form.. One bowl of cooked rice is the caloric equal of 10 teaspoons of sugar. This does not matter whether it is white, brown or herbal rice. Brown rice is richer in fibre, some B vitamins and minerals but it is still the caloric equal of 10 teaspoons of sugar. To get the same 10 teaspoons of sugar, you need to consume lots of kangkong-10 bowls of it. <b><br />

Rice is digested to become sugar.</b> Rice cannot be digested before it is thoroughly cooked. However, when thoroughly cooked, it becomes sugar and spikes circulating blood sugar within half an hour-almost as quickly as it would if you took a sugar candy. Rice is very low in the 'rainbow of anti-oxidants. ' This complete anti-oxidant rainbow is necessary for the effective and safe utilisation of sugar. Fruits come with a sugar called fructose. However, they are not empty calories as the fruit is packed with a whole host of other nutrients that help its proper assimilation and digestion.<br />

<b>There is no real 'built in' mechanism for us to prevent overeating of rice:</b><br />
How much kangkong can you eat?<br />

In one seating, you cannot take lots of chicken, fish or cucumber, but you can take lots of rice. Eating rice causes you to eat more salt. As rice is tasteless, you tend to consume more salt-another villain when it comes to high blood pressure. You tend to take more curry that has salt to help flavor rice. We also tend to consume more ketchup and soy sauce which are also rich in salt.<br />
<br />
<b>Eating rice causes you to drink less water.</b><br />
The more rice you eat, the less water you will drink as there is no mechanism to prevent the overeating of rice. Rice, wheat and corn come hidden in our daily food. As rice is tasteless, it tends to end up in other foods that substitute rice like rice flour, noodles and bread. We tend to eat the hidden forms which still get digested into sugar.<br />
<br />
<b>Rice, even when cooked, is difficult to digest.</b><br />
Can't eat raw rice? Try eating rice half cooked. Contrary to popular belief, rice is very difficult to digest. It is 'heavy stuff'. If you have problems with digestion, try skipping rice for a few days. You will be amazed at how the problem will just go away.<br />
<br />
<b>Rice prevents the absorption of several vitamins and minerals.</b><br />
Rice when taken in bulk will reduce the absorption of vital nutrients like zinc, iron and the B vitamins.<br />

Are you a rice addict? Going rice-less may not be easy but you can go rice-less. Eating less rice could be lot easier than you think. Here are some strategies that you can pursue in your quest to eat less rice:<br />

Barry Sears, author of the Zone Diet, advises 'eating rice like spice'. Instead, increase your fruits and vegetables. Take more lean meats and fish. You can even take more eggs and nuts.<br />

You will automatically eat less rice.<br />

<b>Eat your fruit dessert before (Yes! No printing error) your meals.</b><br />
The fibre rich fruits will 'bulk up' in your stomach. Thus, you will eat less rice and more fruits.<br />
